General Meeting Minutes - March 2010
Meeting Scheduled: 18th March 2010 @ 7:00pm – Meeting commenced at 7:10pm
Meeting Location: Shannons Club Room, Newstead.
Attendees: Wilbur Graham (WG); Peter Hetherington (PH); John Gilbert (JG); Richard Graham (RG); Dustin Marshall (DM); David Robertson (DR); Tony Hooker (TH); Trevor Tilling (TT); David Healy (DH); Richard Greenup (RGu); Greg Hutley (GH); Mark Arnold (MA); Ray Ferguson (RF); Alex Molocznyk (AM).
Apologies: Jason Lea (JL), Rob Learmonth (RL), John Cade (JC) and Jason Hassard (JH), Mike McKelliget (MM).

Guests: None
President/Vice President’s Report:
- DM stated that he had nothing to report. But he did give a brief rundown of Round 1 of the Super Sprint Series “A” at Morgan Park held on 14th & 15th.
- WG thanked DM for his assistance after Wilbur’s mishap whilst travelling to Warwick.
- Several minor accidents, mainly car trailer related, happened on the way to and from Warwick.
- Luckily there were no on track accidents.
Membership Secretary’s report:
- Membership Report
- Currently there are 60 financial club members as well as 7 partner/spouse members.
- New Members
- 8 New members have joined the club.
- Membership list completed and 57 cards printed, with a further 10 to be printed. Receipts have been sent to all financial members.
Treasurer’s Report:
- General Account:- There is currently $10,866.78 in this account
- There is $234.00 to be paid for windscreen or rear window stickers that advertise the club and display the club’s web address.
Secretary’s Report:
- There were no items or action since the last meeting to be reported
New Business:
- Membership Cards;
- This was covered in the Membership Secretary’s report
- Articles for Club Newsletter;
- There was an extensive discussion on this matter and some of the points raised were:-
- Richard Greenup has made numerous requests for articles to put into the newsletter but without success.
- The type of article that could be published in the club newsletter, suggestions ranged from technical to a possible “Send me your questions” reply section.
- An action item on Richard Greenup to check with John Tilley from Queensland Raceways regards the possibility of having the club newsletter compiled and published through John Tilley’s organisation.
- It was also suggested that a system should be implemented whereas a club member would be nominated to supply an article of their choosing for the newsletter.
- It was agreed that the ideal would be 4 club newsletters per year.
- Another suggestion was to approach business houses such as suspension workshops, car dealerships, accessory suppliers etc and asked them to supply an article focusing on their skills/business which we could publish in the club newsletter.
- It was finally agreed that it would be better to wait for the outcome of the meeting between Richard Greenup and John Tilley before any further action was taken on any of the suggestions.
- Another action items was raised for David Robertson to draft up an article on the FoSC event.
- Option to secure second garage for Regularity Festival.
- This option was taken up by Greg Hutley
- General discussion regards Z Car Club teams competing in the “FoSC Regularity Festival” over Easter Weekend 2010.
- PH gave a brief outline of the event to be staged by the Festival of Sporting Cars (FoSC) over the Easter Weekend and in which 8 members of the Z Car Club plus 2 external participants will be competing.
- This option was taken up by Greg Hutley
- Ray Ferguson informed the meeting about an event called the “Japanese Nationals” that is scheduled for Sunday 26th September 2010. Further details regards this event is in the attached file, click here to download.
- Mark Arnold advised that he was considering becoming a member of the club, hope he decides in the positive.
