RACQ Motorfest 2006
Event Report - by Simon de Groot
Looking out of my front window at 7.00am, the day looked pretty dismal, it was heavily overcast with fairly thick fog, but at least the road was dry. I had spent most of the previous day cleaning and detailing my Z in preparation for the event.
I left home at about 7.15 to make it to the Roma Street Parklands by about 7.30 so I had time to have a chat with and say gidday to the other entrants. On arrival I was able to check out 2 very tidy Princes that were among our number.
Dave our illustrious VP was madly pulling out spark plugs, checking for a phantom miss, until it was suggested by someone that it had fouled up because he drives like a little old lady : )
We proceeded to the venue, the RNA showgrounds, as a group. On arrival we lined up in the very expansive grounds and were soon joined by quite a few other Z's and an early Skyline GT. We ended up with 13 club members and a good number of others.
The day, weather wise, couldn't have been better, and was well attended by the public. A lot of interest was shown in our Datsuns and the Club as a whole. All in all a good day out.
