The Green 260Z
This was my first Z. After having a drive in John Gilbert’s 260 Fairlady Z, to the Gatton Sprint in 2003, I was hooked and immediately started looking for my own Zed.

After looking at many scary things I found this great little car on the net down in Armidale, she was not in fantastic condition but it was love at first sight. She had been a country car all her life so the rust was not too bad, compared to some of the cars I had seen, but the dust was everywhere. After 3 solid days of detailing, she looked a treat.

After getting some valuable advice form Alan Stean I upgraded the Suspension with King Springs, some new KYB shock absorbers and some Performance Wheels with Siverstone FTZ’s, now she looked the part. I was fortunate enough to know Jon Siddins for many year’s and Jon and Darren were kind enough to build me an engine in 2004.

Now with F54 L28 Blue printed and Balanced with new pistons, Billet Cam, a P90 head etc., etc. she goes like a rocket.

Since then I have added twin 2" Su’s rebuilt and fitted by Iain Stewart and an R200 4.1:1 LSD. Next is the interior and exterior back to original.

The Red 240Z

1970 Datsun 240Z         Chassis Number: HS 30 00183      Colour: Porsche Guards Red

I bought my Red 240 in early 2004 from Alan Stean. The Car first caught my eye at Alan’s workshop in 2003 and I always loved the paintwork and interior. After finding Alan starting to pull the all the good bits out of the car  to sell separately and turn the car back to a standard car I just had to do a deal to keep her as is.

The Red Car as I affectionately call her has been fantastic and not only looks great but drives extremely well on the Racing circuits,  I have competed for the Last 2 years in the Queensland Sprint Series at Morgan Park doing extremely well in its class coming 2nd or 3rd throughout the seasons. I competed in the 2005 Nissan Datsun Nationals Competition Section, coming 7th outright and also being the 2nd  fastest Z or ZX in the field gave me the runner up in the 240 Z Modified section.
I not only love to drive her on the circuit but she comes along to many club events and runs and people always can’t believe the paint job was done back in 1991.

The Red Car has been modified with

L28 bored to 2990cc
Alloy Delrin Bushes
Adjustable Bilstein Shock absorbers
Front struts from Ross Dunkerton’s Rally 240Z
Nissan Works Rally Pedal Set
Jaguar Clutch
Hollinger gear set 1st and 2nd
4.4 : 1 Limited slip Differential
Adjustable front lower arms
Honda Legend front Disks
Sumatomo 4 Spot FIA. Works Calipers
Longer wheel studs
4 core radiator
Triple 45 Weber Carburetors
Adjustable Heavy Duty strut bars

The1978 280ZX 2 Seater

A friend of mine was lucky enough to successfully bid for this car on eBay in early July 2006 after 2 weeks of stress and anxiety it finally arrived into Brisbane on the 17th of July 06 from Melbourne.

The Car arrived needing a major clean and detail and replacement of the diff and gearbox oils, which were as thick as tomato sauce. After 4 days of solid cleaning, rust repairs and revitalizing, the car now looks excellent.

This car had originally been directly imported from Japan as a personal import at sometime in the 80’s to Western Australia.

In 1993 the car was purchased by the previous owners father and moved to Melbourne where it spent the next 13 years.

This car is one of the 2 seater versions of the 280ZX which was not imported into this country making it a very rare site on our roads, All Japanese Zed cars are given the designation of Fairlady Z through out its model range and this car with a chassis number of HS130001395 denotes it was released from the factory for Japanese local market with a L28E fuel injected engine which it still has.

I purchased this car of my friend in 2007 and I hope to restore it to its former glory..

The Red 260Z

I was fortunate to by this car from the Tweed area in July 2004. It is a very standard 260Z light weight shell and the previous owners had given it virtually a bare metal rebuild. The rust had been cut out and steel welded back in and to this day no rust has come back so I guess they did a dam good job. The Paint job was not perfect but every time I give it a cut and polish it just looks better and better.

I have loaned this car to some close friends who are club members, for both track and and club runs over the years. Dustin Marshall has competed in it at the Leyburn Sprints. Rob Learmonth used it for a regularty event at QR when his car had problems and couldn't be used, Myself and Roderick Mijnarends competed in it at the NDN09 event at Warwick getting a 1st and 3rd in class. The car has been on the last 3 Christmas in July Runs running extremely well on all occasions.

I gave the car a detail before NDN09 and as you can see from just a bit of elbow grease and $150 worth of paint and cleaning products and a set of new rims the car came up looking just great as the before and after shots show.

This car is a completely standard and it is just fantastic. I really enjoy driving it when I get the chance. Sure it doesn’t have upgraded this and that, but it shows just what a great job Datsun did in building this car back in the 70’s.
