I found my car 10 years ago. I was looking for a Datsun 1600, Datsun 240Z or an XU1 Torana.

The car had been for sale for months. My wife and kids fell in love with it straight away. I did need to transport the kids occasionally so the station wagon was purchased.

It runs a standard L28 with F54 block and P90 head.

Two years ago I was lucky enough to have Jon & Darren Siddins rebuild the engine for me and what a strong engine it is. Jon and Darren also lowered the kings springs and fitted new KYB shocks, so it now has 1º of negative camber all round. It now rides and handles like a dream.

Iain Stewart refurbished the HIF6 SU's and rejetted them.

Alan Stean fitted a 280Z electronic distributor which improved the performance even further. Alan has been invaluable with his advice over the years and also sundry parts.

On competition days it runs on Silverstone FZRR tyres and I have just fitted an R200 4.11 LSD which helps considerably with acceleration.

Apart from that the car is standard Fairlady Z with air con and all.
